Lecturer. Karzan Ahmed Khidr, Head of the Fine Arts Department, and Asst. Lecturer Ashwaq Ihsan Ramadan, Decision Officer of the department, conducted a scientific workshop entitled “Future Roadmap: Criteria and Principles for Selecting Specializations in the Fine Arts Department.” The workshop focused on guiding students in determining their academic and professional paths in the coming stages.
The workshop was organized by the Fine Arts Department and held at the (Prof. Dr. Mohammed Arif) Gallery. In the first session,Lecturer. Karzan Ahmed provided a detailed explanation of the artistic characteristics of each specialization and highlighted the scientific criteria followed in admitting students into different fields. He also offered practical guidance to help students identify the specialization that aligns with their interests and ambitions.
In the second part of the workshop, Asst. Lecturer Ashwaq Ihsan discussed the psychological and thematic factors that should be considered when making such decisions, including personal interests, individual abilities and talents, and environmental influences. She emphasized the importance of balancing personal aspirations with labor market demands, presenting several real-life examples to clarify these concepts for the students.
At the conclusion of the workshop, special forms for selecting specializations (Drawing, Sculpture, Ceramics, and Design) were distributed to the students, enabling them to choose their preferred fields in a structured and informed manner for a successful future.
