Assis. Lecturer. Kawan Ahmed Elias presented a scientific seminar entitled (The Role of Music in Film), in which he addressed the significant dimensions of the relationship between sound and image in the process of cinematic storytelling.
The seminar highlighted in detail film music as one of the fundamental elements in creating the cinematic experience. It emphasized that music is not merely a complement to visuals, but a primary tool for conveying emotions, shaping the atmosphere of a film, and deepening the audience’s understanding of dialogue and narrative.
Additionally, the seminar explored the diversity of musical styles used in cinema, including classical, jazz, pop, and traditional/folk music. Each of these styles serves the needs of the story and contributes to strengthening the film’s overall message. It was also noted that music plays a crucial role in organizing the rhythm and pacing of events, as well as adding new layers of meaning to visual scenes.
In conclusion, attendees actively contributed their observations and insights, enriching the discussion. Emphasis was placed on the importance of developing the musical aspect of film in order to achieve a higher level of aesthetic and artistic impact in cinematic productions.
