As part of its ongoing academic and artistic activities, the Department of Cinema and Theatre at the College of Fine Arts, Salahaddin University–Erbil, organized a scientific and artistic seminar for the department’s students. The seminar, entitled “Character and Character Building in Playwriting,” was presented by the theatre practitioner and writer Hoshang Waziri.
The seminar addressed drama from a scientific perspective, focusing on the foundations of character construction and the different types of characters in playwriting. It also discussed the essential characteristics of dramatic characters as a core element in theatrical writing, supported by comparisons with international examples.
At the conclusion of the seminar, in appreciation of its success, the Dean of the Department of Cinema and Theatre, Assist.Teacher. Dana Mohammed Abdullah, presented a certificate of appreciation and gratitude to the writer Hoshang Waziri, in recognition of his efforts and dedication.
