Erbil, Sunday, September 21, 2025 – Today, at the hall of Prof. Dr. Mohammed Arif in the College of Fine Arts at Salahaddin University, the master’s thesis defense of student Harem Jamal Rashid Hawezi took place.
The thesis, titled “The Role of Eastern Methods in Oud Performance and Its Impact on the Advancement of Music: A Case Study of the Fine Arts Colleges in Erbil Governorate”, was presented.
Prof. Dr. Mohammed Azizi Zaza chaired the scientific committee, with each of the committee members – Prof. Dr. Dilawar Mustafa Mohammed, P.A. Dr. Chiai Kemal Saeed – serving as members, and P.A. Dr. Serud Fouad Mohammed acting as both a member and the supervisor of the thesis.
After a scientific discussion that lasted more than three hours, the thesis was approved.
