Assist.Lecturer Sherzad Ahmed Marouf delivered a scientific seminar titled “The Elements of Maqam in Qur’anic Recitation and Its Impact on the Psychological State of Adolescents in Care Homes: An Educational and Reformative Perspective.” In the seminar, he highlighted the influential role and the psychological and educational benefits of reciting the Holy Qur’an with a melodious voice for this group.
The seminar اشارهed that adolescents living in care homes, due to the absence of family support, often suffer from issues such as loneliness, fear, and low self-confidence. It emphasized that reciting the Holy Qur’an with a soothing melodic tone is an effective tool for reducing stress and promoting psychological stability among them.
The seminar also discussed the educational and reformative benefits of this approach, including:
- Psychological aspect: Reducing anxiety and fear, while increasing hope and self-confidence.
- Educational aspect: Guiding adolescents toward positive behavior, strengthening cooperation, and developing personality.
- Reformative aspect: Transforming negative and aggressive behaviors into calmness and emotional stability.
In conclusion, it was emphasized that using maqam and a pleasant voice in Qur’anic recitation is not only a religious practice, but also a scientific foundation for behavioral reform and addressing psychological issues. The seminar concluded with the presentation of several practical recommendations and scientific references.
