Today, Assist. Lecturer Ahmed Nureddin Taha delivered a scientific webinar entitled “The Role of the Piano in National Musical Compositions.” In his presentation, he highlighted the importance and status of the piano in expressing cultural identity and national sentiments.

During the webinar, the concept of national music and its historical background were explained in detail. It was pointed out how this type of music draws from folkloric rhythms and melodies, and is then presented through a structured, scientific composition as a form of cultural identity.

In another part of the session, live examples from global masterpieces were presented, including “Liberatango” by the Argentine composer Astor Piazzolla, where the central role of the piano in strengthening the ostinato rhythm and contributing to fundamental transformations in the history of tango music was analyzed.

In conclusion, emphasis was placed on the piano as an effective instrument for preserving national music and globalizing folkloric melodies. It plays a significant role in raising artistic awareness and conveying cultural messages of nations to a global audience.
