Dean of the College of Fine Arts Presents a Certificate of Appreciation to Artist Jason Clegg and Student Alaa Nawzad

Erbil – Thursday (February 5, 2026)

Prof. Dr. Sardar Qadir, Dean of the College of Fine Arts at Salahaddin University, welcomed artist Jason Clegg and student Alaa Nawzad, expressing his gratitude and appreciation for their efforts in serving the arts and for transferring their experience and expertise in this field to the students of the Ceramics Branch of the Department of Plastic Arts at the college.

The reception followed a special workshop held today, Thursday, in which artist Jason Clegg delivered a specialized session for students of the Ceramics Branch, discussing experimental techniques in ceramic art and presenting his insights aimed at developing and enhancing the students’ skills and talents.

The workshop was supervised by M. Talal Dara Bahri, and during the session, student Alaa Nawzad translated Jason Clegg’s lecture and discussions into Kurdish.

Jason Clegg holds a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, specializing in Ceramics and Photography, from Wingate University in North Carolina (2010). His academic and professional experience includes teaching roles in several international educational institutions, including the Yemen Joint Education Center in Taiz.

This activity was proposed and coordinated by student Alaa Nawzad, a first-year student in the Department of Plastic Arts, who had previously established cultural and artistic connections with the visiting artist. Within the framework of this cooperation, it has been decided to continue future collaboration between artist Jason Clegg and the Department of Plastic Arts – Ceramics Branch at the College of Fine Arts, with the workshop scheduled to continue next week on Sunday and Monday.
