Erbil, Monday (January 15, 2026)
Today, in Prof. Dr. Mohammed Arif Hall at the College of Fine Arts, Salahaddin University, the master’s thesis defense of the student Hardi Othman Ali took place.
The thesis was presented under the title:
“The Performance and Techniques of Genetic Style and Playing Methods of the Oud Instrument in Kurdish and Arabic Music.”
The scientific committee was chaired by Assist. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Aziz Shakir Zaza, with Assist. Prof. Dr. Anis Hamoud Maidi and Assist. Prof. Dr. Sarud Fuad Mohammed as members. Assist. Prof. Dr. Amanj Ghazi Shakir served as both a committee member and the thesis supervisor.
After an academic discussion that lasted three hours, the thesis was approved.
