Erbil, Thursday (January 15, 2026)

Shadi Mohammed Mahmoodzadeh participated in the international exhibition “Echoes of Humanity” at the level of Iraq, among more than 300 female participants. She was selected as the only woman from the Middle East to take part in the exhibition at Gallery No.35, which was organized by an international group specializing in human-centered artistic practices.

The exhibition was launched at the beginning of this year at NO.35 Gallery, organized by female artists from the Middle East under the supervision of Anisa Mousaieh.

In a statement published on the gallery’s main platform, it was announced:
“We are proud to announce that Shadi Mohammed Mahmoodzadeh (Shaina) has been selected as the recipient of the Emerging Talents Award for Human Expressions, granted through the first open call of Gallery No.35. Her photographic series ‘Press’ (2025) was recognized for its clarity and powerful visual presentation of psychological imprisonment, loneliness, and inner pressure, conveyed through constrained composition and the repetitive presence of the body within a tense architectural space.”

The statement further noted:
“The jury highlighted the strong conceptual awareness and the ability to translate personal and social tension into a compelling visual language. The award acknowledges a mature artistic voice and a sensitivity that engages with themes of memory, alienation, and lived human experience.”

The artist-researcher Shadi Mohammed Mahmoodzadeh (Shaina) also participated in 2025 in the exhibition EGO SUM, a contemporary exhibition of Kurdish women artists, which was held at the Palace of Art in Kraków and at the Jatki Art Gallery in Ostrołęka, Poland.
