Asst. Prof. Dr. Amanj Ghazi Shakir presented the teaching methods and fundamental principles of playing the oud instrument during a scientific seminar.
The seminar was held in the Department of Music, with the حضور (attendance) of the faculty members of the Music Department at the College of Fine Arts, Salahaddin University.
During the seminar, Asst. Prof. Dr. Amanj Ghazi discussed the importance of the oud instrument and its playing techniques, pointing out that the oud is one of the oldest and most important string instruments of the Middle East, possessing a rich history and diverse performance styles.
He also made a comparative analysis between classical and modern teaching methods for the instrument, highlighting their impact on the performance level of musicians and students.
In another part of the seminar, attention was drawn to the distinctive characteristics of Kurdish performance style on the oud, and the key differences between Kurdish and Arabic styles of playing the instrument were clearly presented.
