Prof. Dr. Sardar Qadir, Dean of the College of Fine Arts at Salahaddin University, welcomed Nermin Arif, the sister of the late artist Prof. Dr. Muhammad Arif. During the meeting, he praised the efforts and contributions of the late artist in serving Kurdish art.
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Arif, an artist born in 1937 in Rawanduz, passed away on October 9, 2009. Throughout his life, through his artistic creativity and productive work, he offered significant service to Kurdish visual arts and the cultural library.
The late artist founded the College of Fine Arts at Salahaddin University in 2004 and became its first dean.
He taught art at the universities of Baghdad, Babylon, Saudi Arabia, and later Salahaddin University, offering great service in the field of visual arts.
In addition to his art exhibitions, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Arif published ten artistic works and translated several literary works from Russian into Kurdish
