On Tuesday, October 28, 2025, the 5th International Scientific Conference on the Kurdish Genocide was held in Duhok, organized under the guidance of President Barzani. One of the lecturers from the College of Fine Arts at Salahaddin University, M.R.Dana Muhammad Abdullah, participated and presented her research titled: “The Role of Documentary Film in Recognizing and Documenting the Kurdish Genocide at the International Level.”
The conference, held on October 28–29, 2025, carried the theme “Scientific Documentation of the Crimes of Anfal and Mass Graves Toward International Recognition of the Kurdish Genocide” and included the participation of local and international researchers, Anfal survivors, Anfal committees, as well as government, parliamentary, and political party representatives.
The event was organized in collaboration with several academic institutions, including Salahaddin University, University of Sulaimani, Halabja University, Hawler Medical University, Garmian University, Erbil Polytechnic University, Soran University, and Charmo University.
During the two days of the conference, numerous research papers and panel discussions addressed scientific aspects, roles, and impacts concerning the Kurdish Genocide. Presentations were delivered by researchers, academics, and specialists from both domestic and international institutions.
