Erbil, Monday (April 6, 2026)
As part of the ongoing efforts of the Department of Cinema and Theatre at the College of Fine Arts to advance the scientific and artistic skills of its students, the short film “My Paper Boat”, directed by Hozan Sherzad, which is a project of the department, has achieved a remarkable success by winning the Special Jury Award at the International Youth Film Festival of Iraq.
About the Festival:
The festival is an international artistic event held over three days in Baghdad, with participation from more than 18 countries. Out of approximately 250 submitted short films, only 42 were selected for the competition section. Despite strong competition among the entries, the film from Salahaddin University managed to stand out and earn this prestigious award.
This achievement is a source of pride, as the film was produced through the dedicated efforts and collaboration of both students and faculty members of the Department of Cinema and Theatre.
