The Role of Music and Songs in Enhancing Athletic Performance Highlighted in a Scientific Seminar

Yesterday, Tuesday (March 31, 2026), Assis.Teacher.Ashna Omar Hama, in a scientific seminar entitled “The Role of Music and Songs During Exercise”, presented the most important biological and psychological effects of music on the human body and its role in enhancing athletes’ performance.

The seminar shed light on the concept of music as a “powerful supportive therapy”. It was pointed out that music can lead to biological changes in the nervous system, helping to reduce the feeling of fatigue and increase concentration levels. The discussion also addressed the scientific aspect of hormone release, explaining how music contributes to increasing Dopamine (associated with happiness) and reducing Cortisol (associated with stress).

At the conclusion, emphasis was placed on music as a national and cultural tool and a message of peace in major sporting events such as the Olympic Games, where it plays a role in representing culture and boosting the morale of athletes and audiences.
