in (March 31, 2026), during a scientific seminar entitled “Artistic Groups in the City of Erbil, the Ladi Artistic Group as a (example)”, Dr. Sirwan Mohammed Mustafa, a specialist in Western music theory, presented the history and artistic achievements of this long-established group in the city of Erbil.
During the seminar, detailed attention was given to the history of the group’s establishment. It was noted that the group was originally a governmental entity, with its theatre department founded in 1973 and its music department established in 1975. It was also highlighted that the Ladi Group was affiliated with the General Directorate of Agriculture in Erbil, and its main goal was to deliver messages of awareness and culture to villagers and farmers in Kurdistan through theatre and music.
At the conclusion, reference was made to prominent veteran artists who were among the founders and members of the group, such as Anwar Sheikhani, Qanbar Raouf, Luqman Barzanji (Sheikh Luqman), and several other artists who contributed to building a proud history for Kurdish art in the city of Erbil.
