A Music and Song Concert Held at the College of Fine Arts

Erbil, Wednesday (11 February 2026)

In the presence of Prof. Dr. Sardar Qadir, Dean of the College of Fine Arts at Salahaddin University, along with the Assistant Dean, department heads, faculty members, and students from various academic stages, the Department of Music organized a music and song concert.

At the beginning of the concert, the Dean of the College delivered a speech in which he expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the lecturers and students of the Department of Music. He highlighted the importance and impact of rehearsals, artistic performances, and cultural activities within the college. He also stated that the preparations made by the Department of Music for this concert reflect the seriousness and effectiveness of the college in educating a generation grounded in knowledge and creativity. He praised the students of the college for presenting their artistic achievements at a high professional level.

In the first part of the concert, students of the Department of Music performed four musical and vocal pieces. The students (Ibrahim Hemen, Zakaria Salah, Muhammad Dana, Mir Bamo, and Baland Numan) participated by playing Western musical instruments.

The second part of the concert was dedicated to authentic traditional music and classical Kurdish and Eastern songs. Students (Keivan Hijran, Shazad Ahmed, Rawaz Shorsh, Lavin Nayef, and Ibrahim Hemen) participated by playing traditional musical instruments, while Sarmad Sadiq and Awa Nimrat performed the songs with their distinguished voices.

The concert was prepared and organized by fourth-year student of the Department of Music, Ibrahim Hemen Kara, under the supervision of the Department of Music at the College of Fine Arts.
The musical arrangements were presented by the student Keivan Hijran.

At the conclusion of the concert, the Head of the Department of Music, Dr. Hiwa Talat, delivered closing remarks, and certificates of appreciation were distributed to the participants amid applause from the audience.
